In this assignment I noticed that as the f top changed the depth of field changed with it but also changing the f stop caused you to change the shutter speed to get good exposure so that caused moving objects to become blurry.

Some of my favorite moments happen when I step outside and embrace a sense of adventure. Whether I’m exploring a new trail, watching the sunset from a mountain ridge, or simply taking in the beauty of nature, being outdoors reminds me how much there is to discover. These photos reflect not only the places I’ve been, but also the way I choose to experience life with curiosity, appreciation, and a willingness to explore.
Some of my favorite memories come from being outside, surrounded by nature, and taking the time to appreciate what is around me. These moments help me slow down and see life from a different perspective. From mountain landscapes and colorful sunsets to blooming flowers, forests, and ferries crossing the water, each image captures a different moment that stood out to me. Together, they tell the story of someone who enjoys exploring and appreciating the world around them.
The title “Taking a Look at Life” is important because these photos show how I view the world. I try to stay curious, appreciate the little things, and make the most of every opportunity. Life moves quickly, but these images remind me to enjoy the journey, embrace new experiences, and never stop exploring. Through my adventures and the memories I capture along the way, I am constantly learning more about both the world and myself.
These images also remind me that life is about more than just reaching a destination. It is about enjoying the journey, noticing the small details, and appreciating the opportunities to explore. To me, taking a look at life means staying curious, embracing adventure, and finding something meaningful wherever I go.

Ansel Adams was an American photographer and environmentalist best known for his black-and-white images of the American West, particularly Yosemite National Park. He helped develop the photographic technique known as the Zone System, which allowed photographers to achieve precise control over exposure and contrast. Throughout his career, Adams published numerous books, including Sierra Nevada: The John Muir Trail, and This Is the American Earth. His photographs and conservation efforts played an important role in promoting the preservation of America’s natural landscapes, making him one of the most influential photographers of the twentieth century.
The reason why I choose Ansel Adams is because I really enjoy landscape photography especially in the mountains, and his photography inspires me to go hiking and off roading and take pictures in Olympic National park. Also aspiring me to take a road trip to Glacier National park and Oregon coast this summer and document my trip.

Architecture/History

For this assignment, I created three groups of photos focusing on rough textures, smooth textures, and a person’s face. The main goal was to experiment with how lighting changes the way texture looks and feels in an image.
In my rough texture photos, I used stronger, angled lighting to bring out details like bumps, cracks, and uneven surfaces. This made the textures look more dramatic and intense. For the smooth textures, I used softer and more even lighting so the surfaces looked clean and calm. It reduced shadows and made everything appear more simple and minimal. For the face photos, I tried different lighting angles and colors to change the mood. Side lighting showed more detail and texture in the skin, while softer front lighting made the face look smoother.
While editing, I adjusted RGB levels, brightness, and contrast to enhance the textures even more. I also resized and organized my images so each group looked consistent and clean on the blog. I made sure the layout was easy to follow and that the images weren’t too large or blurry.
What I learned from this assignment is that light is one of the most important parts of photography. It can completely change how something feels, even if it’s the same object. I also learned to pay more attention to everyday textures that I normally wouldn’t notice. This project helped me think more creatively and plan my photos instead of just taking them randomly.
Overall, I feel like I improved my editing skills and my understanding of how to use light to create different effects and moods in my photos
